The next summit took place in Baku was around the following subject: "oil and gas sectors in the Caspian Sea and belts". Representatives of the sides clarified the issue through discussions.
They also discussed Russia's attitude towards this issue.
The Russian side: if Kazakhstan support the European Union in negotiation on the legal status of Caspian Sea, then why join Eurasian Union. Russia also in favor of distribution of "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli" between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.
Turkey's representative: “The countries who partner with Russia have always lost. We support the position of Azerbaijan” – he added.
Representative of Iran: “every country is sovereign and should take advantage of this right."
Following the summit Turkmen representative said: We are based on the UN Convention for the division of the Caspian Sea.
Finally, the Kazakh official made speech: “before joining this process we take into account that what we will get and what we will lose. Russia and Iran to protect its interests” – he concluded.
